Maintaining your APEX Technology coating is essential for preserving its gloss, hydrophobic effect, and long‑term durability. APEX coatings are advanced ceramic/graphene systems with outstanding chemical and UV resistance. However, even the best coatings require proper care to maintain a high‑gloss finish and extreme water‑beading. By following the procedures below, you’ll ensure your coating delivers its full protective potential throughout its service life.
Core Principles
- Hand wash only – avoid automatic car washes (including “touchless” systems).
- Work on a cool surface, in the shade.
- Use dedicated, coating‑safe chemistry from the APEX system.
- Dry the vehicle completely after every wash using microfiber only.
Step 1 - Pre-wash (Snow Foam)
Alkaline Snow Foam is recommended as the first step. The foam softens and loosens road film, insects, and bonded dust before contact washing, reducing the risk of micro‑marring during the main wash.
| Vehicle Type | Bottle Ration (foam:water) | Estimated Panel pH | Contact Time | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coated - regular wash | 1:20 (50 ml : 950 ml) | ≈ 9.7 – 9.9 | ≤ 5 min | Gentle maintenance; preserves hydrophobicity |
| Coated – monthly “reset” | 1:15 (70 ml : 930 ml) | ≈ 10.0 – 10.2 | 3–5 min | Deeper clean; removes traffic film & deposits |
| PPF – regular | 1:20 – 1:30 (30–50 ml : 950–970 ml) | ≈ 9.5 – 9.8 | ≤ 5 min | Safe maintenance; protects PPF top‑coat |
| PPF – heavier cleaning | 1:15 (70 ml : 930 ml) | ≈ 10.0 – 10.2 | ≤ 3–5 min | Seasonal/bug removal; do not let dry |
⚠️ Never allow foam to dry on the surface. Rinse thoroughly while foam is still wet.
Step 2 – Main Wash (APEX Technology Reset Shampoo)
After rinsing off Snow Foam, proceed with the main hand wash using APEX Technology Reset Shampoo. Reset is a low‑pH, coating‑safe shampoo engineered to dissolve mineral films and traffic grime without leaving residues that would mute hydrophobicity.
Why Reset?
- Low pH formula helps release mineral deposits and road film.
- No waxes, silicones or polymers – does not mask or choke the coating.
- Restores the “like‑new” slickness and water‑beading of the coating.
- Safe for coatings, PPF and exterior trim.
Dosage & Method
- 15 L wash bucket: add 30 ml of Reset (≈ 2–3 caps). For heavy soiling, up to 50 ml per 15 L.
- Use the two‑bucket method (wash + rinse) with grit guards when possible.
- Use a soft microfiber wash mitt; wash top‑to‑bottom in small sections; rinse frequently.
Step 3 – Drying (Microfiber Only)
Dry immediately after rinsing to prevent water spotting. Always use a dedicated microfiber drying towel (high GSM). You may combine with a blower to remove water from seams and trim.
🚫 Not recommended: chamois/leather, cotton towels, or silicone squeegee blades (risk of marring and streaks).
❌ Do not air‑dry – minerals may deposit and dull the coating over time.
Step 4 – Hydrophobic Top‑Up (APEX Lime Life Graphene CNT QD)
Every 4–6 weeks, or after routine washes, apply APEX Lime Life Graphene CNT Quick Detailer to refresh slickness, gloss, and water‑beading. Use as a quick detailer on dry paint. Mist onto the panel, wipe with microfiber, then buff to a high gloss.
Step 5 – Annual Rejuvenation (APEX Technology ReAct)
Once per year, perform a full wash and decontamination as needed, then apply APEX Technology ReAct. ReAct bonds to the existing coating, restores peak hydrophobic performance, enhances UV/chemical resistance, and lays down a fresh protective nano‑layer.
Recommended Frequency & Best Practices
- Hand wash every ~2 weeks (more often in winter or heavy use).
- Use Snow Foam pre‑wash each time; choose dilution per table above.
- Use Reset Shampoo for all main washes (low‑pH, coating‑safe).
- Dry only with microfiber towels; avoid silicone blades and air‑drying.
- Spot‑clean bird droppings, bugs, sap immediately.
- Apply Lime Life QD every 4–6 weeks for a hydrophobic “top‑up”.
- Apply ReAct once per year to rejuvenate the coating.
- Store and park under cover where possible to reduce environmental load.
