APEX PHPS Coat by APEX Technology is a next-generation ceramic coating engineered for extreme conditions. Developed with PHPS (Polysilazane-based Hybrid Polymer System) technology, it combines the best properties of ceramics and polymers, forming a flexible yet ultra-durable layer that chemically bonds to the surface for superior long-term protection.
- PHPS hybrid technology – chemically bonds to the substrate during curing, creating a permanent protective layer.
- Extreme heat resistance – withstands temperatures up to 750 °C, ideal for wheels, exhaust systems, brake calipers, and thermally exposed parts.
- UV stability – prevents color fading and oxidation even under prolonged sun exposure.
- Self-cleaning effect – superhydrophobic surface repels water and dirt for effortless maintenance.
- Excellent adhesion & flexibility – expands and contracts with the substrate, preventing cracks even under extreme temperature changes.
- Outstanding chemical resistance – protects against salt, acid rain, bird droppings, industrial fallout, and graffiti.
- Corrosion protection – prevents oxidation and rust on metal surfaces.
- Long-lasting durability – retains properties for up to 3 years or ≈ 50 000 km, without fading or degradation.
Application Instructions
Important information before application
Shake the bottle well before use.
Apply in a dry, enclosed, and well-ventilated area, protected from dust and moisture.
Ideal conditions: 15–25 °C, relative humidity 40–70%.
Store the coating in a cool, ventilated place. When opening the bottle, handle with care – a slight negative pressure may occur.
For optimal results and maximum protection, apply APEX Technology PHPS Coat precisely according to these instructions.
Because this coating forms an extremely hard and durable layer, improper application cannot be easily corrected or removed.
- Surface Preparation
The surface must be completely clean, dry, and degreased.
Thoroughly wash the vehicle or part to be coated using a pre-wash and shampoo.
Perform chemical and mechanical decontamination (remove tar, iron particles, sap, and embedded dirt).
If necessary, polish the surface to remove micro-scratches and imperfections — PHPS will seal the final condition, including any defects left behind.
Immediately before coating, use APEX Technology Prime + Prep (IPA-based degreaser) to remove all oils and polish residues.
- Coating Application
Shake the bottle well before use.
Apply 8–10 drops of coating onto the supplied microfiber applicator.
Work in 30 × 30 cm sections using cross-hatch motions (vertical and horizontal).
Apply in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight or hot surfaces.
- Reaction Time
Drying time depends on ambient temperature and humidity.
Wait approximately 30 seconds (adjust based on environmental conditions — perform a test spot if needed).
When the surface begins to show a slight hazy or misty appearance, it is ready for wiping.
- Wiping and Leveling
Use two clean microfiber towels:
First, a short-fiber towel to remove the initial residue.
Then, a long-fiber towel to finish leveling and polishing the surface until all traces disappear.
Ensure that no high spots or streaks remain visible under inspection light.
- Multiple layers
For enhanced protection, a second layer may be applied after 2 hours.
Each layer must be applied following the same process as the first.
- Curing Time
The ceramization and chemical bonding process takes approximately 12 hours — during this time, the surface must not come into contact with water.
Keep the vehicle or part in a dry, dust-free area for at least 24 hours.
Full chemical resistance is achieved after 7 days.
Warnings
Never apply the coating on hot surfaces or under direct sunlight.
Always work in small sections (max. 30 × 30 cm) at a time.
If the coating is wiped too late, stains or high spots may appear that cannot be removed without polishing.
Store at 5–30 °C, protected from direct sunlight.
